Eduardo Valdez Basso “Morruga”
Technical Director – Futsal World Champion Futsal Player, Brazil




Eduardo “Morruga” Basso is a Futsal World Champion. He was considered one of the world’s best futsal players of his time. He played Futsal professionally in Brazil and Spain for over 18 years and career highlights include nine years playing for the Brazilian National team, with participation in two Futsal World Championships. Since 1998, he has been the Head Coach for teams in Professional Futsal Leagues in Brazil and Italy, First Division. He holds a graduate degree in Soccer and Futsal Coaching Methodology and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. He was one of five people worldwide selected to be a member of the highly regarded FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Brazil


Amarildo Pedro Rita “Coach Pedro”
Seasonal Soccer Coach – BFA




Coach Pedro holds a Master of Science degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education. Pedro began playing soccer in Brazil in 1970 and played professionally from 1983 to 1999. After retiring from his career as a professional soccer player, he taught physical education at Niagara County Community College and later became the Head Soccer Coach of the women’s club team at the University of Michigan. For the past several years, he has managed and led all soccer activities at WorldWide Sports Center in Ann Arbor, MI. He is a certified USSF “A” coach, and holds current certifications for First Aid, CPR, AED, and RTE (Responding to Emergencies). He has authored several children’s books in the areas of soccer development and environment education. He donates his free time to run the Dragon Soccer program he and his wife created that provides free training to youth with disabilities.
